Dr. LaKita Royal

The Housing Mobility Expert

Ed.D Human Services

Specialization Leadership & Organizational Management

Hi there! I’m LaKita Royal, a dedicated community advocate and thought leader in housing mobility, working passionately to break generational cycles of housing insecurity. With a BS in Business from St. John’s University, an MA in Public Relations from Full Sail University, and an Ed.D. in Human Services with a specialization in Leadership & Organizational Management from Capella University, I blend academic rigor, policy know-how, and authentic lived experience to deliver actionable strategies that empower families and transform lives.

As The Housing Mobility Expert, I support families with Housing Choice Vouchers and related human services, primarily across the New York Metropolitan area.  My mantra? “Opening Doors, Changing Futures”, because true empowerment goes beyond securing a new address. I collaborate with both voucher recipients and housing organizations, delivering personalized resources, strategic advocacy, and holistic support at every step, transforming barriers into breakthroughs and turning stories of displacement into journeys of progress.

With years of hands-on experience, I’ve championed equitable housing access for hundreds of families, collaborating with agencies, landlords, and communities. My approach is warm, knowledgeable, and solution-focused, prioritizing real outcomes while fostering confidence and community among my clients. I live by the three P’s: Passion, Purpose, and Persistence, believing that every move can unlock not only opportunity, but wellness, resilience, and lasting change.

It’s my mission to ensure that every family, regardless of their starting point, feels equipped, supported, and inspired to shape the next chapter of their journey with clarity and confidence.
